Reverend Mitton

DJ Name: Reverend Mitton

Bio: One thing that Timm Reynolds, aka Reverend Mitton, could always count on music. As far back as he can remember, he was listening to a small FM radio under the covers after being put to bed by his parents. The music helped him relax. From the age of eight he was collecting Hip-Hop and popular music of the 1980's. Along with his stacks of baseball cards were stacks of 45s and 12" singles bought with whatever allowance money he could save up. When he was 12 years old, he saw the older brother of a classmate mixing records on two Technics 1200s, and he finally knew what he was going to do with all of those records he was collecting. He spent his first paycheck ever earbed on two second-hand Technics 1700's and a rudimentary Numark mixer. He started out playing Hip-Hop, experimenting with mixes of old and new school.

In 1992 he discovered the Austin rave community, and with it House Music and Techno. He immediately immersed himself into House and the music took control. In 1993 Timm moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He hooked up with Donovan and crew at the House of Vibes and began playing out at their infamous parties. Soon after that he got a residency at Downtown Louie's in the summer of 1994. The next year he began a residency at Zoot Afterhours and he began playing at more one-off events as well. In '96 his career started to grow as he began traveling to spin at raves out of town, as well as numerous events in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Over the past 16 years Timm has played hundreds of events and club nights in New Mexico, as well as locales such as El Paso, St. Louis, Austin, Denver, and Salt Lake City. He is known for bringing the funk to the dancefloor, whether it be early in the evening opening for headliners, banging it out as a headliner in his own right, or raising the sun with one of his trademarked outdoor sunrise sets. His brand of House mutates into whatever the party needs at the moment.

Anything goes with The Reverend, from deep, jazzy moments to dubby tribal beats as well as some hard stuff and even tech-house. He's played alongside a who's who of the DJ world, including luminaries such as Derrick Carter, Moby, Mark Farina, Justin Long, DJ Mes, DJ Garth, Jeno, Carlos, Donald Glaude, John Howard, Kimball Collins, DJ Dan, Hipp-E, David Alvarado, Julius Papp, Robbie and Gavin Hardkiss, Q-Burn's Abstract Message, Roy Davis Jr., Jay Tripwire, Dayhota, Bad Boy Bill, Mike Dearborn, Juan Atkins,Tommy Sunshine, DJ Icey...and the list goes on. In 2008, Timm teamed up with longtime friend and fellow DJ Justin O'Brien and promoter Nic Ortiz y Pino to start Body Language, Albuquerque's premier Funky House series. They throw it down twice a month at The Blackbird Buvette in Downtown Albuqerque and once a month at Corazon in Santa Fe with fellow resident John Sherdon.
